Barcelona winger has offers from four different leagues, final decision to be taken tonight
Journalist Gerard Romero has claimed that Barcelona winger Ez Abde has as many as four options on the table which includes loan offers from the German Bundesliga and La Liga and permanent options from the English Premier League as well as the Saudi League.
Adding to the report, reporter Helena Condis has mentioned that any decision regarding his future will be made tonight. He has already spoken with his agent and if he leaves, it will be a permanent transfer and not a loan.
It is understood that Barcelona have still not ruled out Abde’s departure despite the fact that a certain Ansu Fati is now close to moving to Brighton on a season-long loan.
Despite recent difficulties in getting into the first team, though, Abde still seems committed to Barcelona, albeit on the condition that he wants an important role under Xavi.
What are Abde’s options?
In case of a permanent transfer, Barcelona have made themselves very clear that only an offer in the region of €20 million will be considered.
As far as a loan deal is concerned, the Blaugrana are said to be against the idea altogether mostly because this will not help them much in terms of Financial Fair Play margin.
Now, we have reported before that fellow La Liga side Sevilla happen to be his big admirer. In fact, the team already inquired about the availability of the player, though, the Blaugrana rejected the approach right away.
Apart from that, the likes of Real Betis and Osasuna have also been credited with an interest.
In Germany, since losing Moussa Diaby to Aston Villa, Bayer Leverkusen have been linked, although they did recently sign Nathan Tella, which could cast doubts about a move for Abde.
What about England and Saudi?
In England, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are preparing for their European campaign and they have identified Abde as someone who can be a valuable addition to the roster. Now, their offer is still unknown, but they remain in the hunt.
On the other hand, the offer from the Middle East is from an unknown club and as reported before, they have already lodged a bid ranging from €15 million to €20 million. Apart from that, they are also willing to offer him a salary of €13 million.
Interestingly enough, though, the player has refused to leave Europe.
With Abde’s agent having held a meeting with the club officials today, it remains to be seen what he decides.
